APPLICATION OF CBA CARBONWRAP IN THE RECONSTRUCTION OF JSC KazAzot factory, KAZAKHSTAN

Restoration works of bearing constructions of buildings of pumping stations of KazAzot JSC in Aktau city were completed in February 2021.

This year in February restoration works of bearing constructions of buildings of pumping stations of KazAzot JSC in Aktau, the Republic of Kazakhstan were completed. "KazAzot is Kazakhstan's largest producer and exporter of ammonia and ammonium nitrate. High-strength CarbonWrap Lamel T lamellas and CarbonWrap Tape carbon tapes produced by Nanotechnology Composites Center LLC (NCC) were successfully used to reinforce concrete ribbed slabs of building cover.

"The CarbonWrap external reinforcement system is not susceptible to corrosion and does not weigh down the original structure. Compared to reinforcing with metal, the work in this method is 15-20% faster and costs less. Considering these advantages, the customer decided to opt for this method of strengthening," commented Vadim Galustyan, Regional Sales Development Manager at NCC.

CBA CarbonWrap is designed to repair and reinforce building structures, in order to eliminate the consequences of concrete destruction and corrosion of the reinforcement as a result of long-term effects of natural factors and corrosive environments during operation. The use of the CarbonWrap External Reinforcement System at the facilities of KazAzot JSC made it possible to carry out work without the use of heavy machinery and without welding. In addition to that, such reinforcement does not increase the load on the repaired structures and does not change their aesthetic appearance.

NCC LLC has been successfully developing export sales since 2014. Significant volumes of CarbonWrap products are supplied to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus for reconstruction and repair of reinforced concrete structures at highly responsible facilities.
