31/01/2017 Nanotechnological center of composites expands the fleet of equipment for the production of products using the SMC method

At the Nanotechnology Center of Composites was completed and commissioning the installation of one of the largest SMC-presses in the territory of Russia.

The new equipment from the world's leading manufacturer, Persico, with a clamping force of 3,500 tons, will significantly increase the capacity of the direct pressing section and expand the range of manufactured products made of polymer composite materials manufactured using SMC technology. On this site, products of up to 3.5x2 m will be produced for the needs of commercial vehicles and special equipment, as well as urban and road facilities.

SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound) technology is a method of manufacturing products from prepreg by direct pressing in steel heated closed molds on hydraulic presses.

SMC-equipment has a high performance, which allows it to be used for serial production.

The main product range of SMC: Loaded exterior parts for the automotive industry with a large surface area of Class A, including a complex geometric shape (bumper, wings, footboards, hoods, spoilers, roof, etc.). This is a high-strength product that can withstand the constant impact of aggressive environments and extreme operating conditions, including special requirements for fire safety and explosion protection. The modern SMC-press expands the capabilities of the technological line of NCC for the production of components for cars.
